Cliftons Steps Forward in Reconciliation Journey with Endorsement of Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan
AUSTRALIA – 16 January 2024: Cliftons Events Solutions, a prominent player in the business events industry, proudly announces the launch of its Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP). Embracing the collective responsibility in the reconciliation process, Cliftons has received endorsement from Reconciliation Australia for its first Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP).
A RAP stands as both a process and a document that provides a framework for organisations to support the national reconciliation movement. Through the implementation of its Reflect RAP, Cliftons is dedicated to laying the groundwork for tangible and meaningful progress and includes:
• Building solid foundations for relationships, respect and opportunities across the organisation
• Increasing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander participation rates within the business and externally
Developed by Cliftons RAP Working Group, including CEO, Vanessa Green and Senior Leadership, in partnership with Reconciliation Australia, the Reflect RAP marks the beginning of a long-term commitment and a significant step in how Cliftons can contribute to reconciliation in Australia.
Cliftons CEO, Vanessa Green says, “As an Australian business, Cliftons recognises the responsibility that every one of us has in the process towards reconciliation. Our RAP serves as a pledge to supporting equity, equal rights and respect for cultural differences within our workplace as well as externally through the events we deliver. Our venues host hundreds of events annually and we see this as an incredible opportunity to create more space for First Nations voices in the Australian – and global – meetings and events sector.”
Cliftons dedication extends to nurturing relationships, respect, and opportunities within the national reconciliation movement. “Just like we have worked with clients to increase the gender diversity of their event speakers, we see our role as an event management business and regional venue provider to create more opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to share their stories, perspectives and insights as keynote speakers, subject matter experts and more.” Green added.
The launch of the Reflect RAP underlines Cliftons ongoing commitment to fostering an inclusive, diverse, and equitable environment.
