In my practice I document the constructed environment, thorough the
use of photographs& observational drawings.
I like to create juxtaposed compositions that contain Traces of the
familiar Merged with possibilities that design and construction
articulate in the language of architecture.
The residual relief these structures impress upon us. The
Unconscious whisper our cities instill in our sleeping minds ,The
romance society has with indicative referencing of lines, lights,
signs, maps and arrows, bricks, blocks and blokes!
I believe that the intelligence involved in the process of design
and erecting our structural parents permeates our collective mind ,
creating landmarks and instructions that direct a societal
unionism. The unspoken alliance that crossing a major intersection
in Collins Street 5.30pm within the working week, the forced
intimacy of a train ride before 9 am on a week day, uniforms
identifying and informing, logos and emblems penetrating our
peripheral vision these are just some of the aspects that
contribute to a coherent orientation that we are instinctively
familiar with. |
